On November 29, 2022, the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, will conduct the first reading of a draft ordinance amending Chapter 15 of the Santa Barbara County Code.  The draft ordinance adopts the 2022 California Fire Code with amendments.

The November 29th meeting will begin at 9 a.m. in the Board Hearing Room, 511 East Lakeside Parkway, Santa Maria, CA.

The draft ordinance replaces the 2019 California Fire Code, as the enforcement Code in all areas within the Santa Barbara County Fire Protection District, and all other unincorporated areas of the County where the Santa Barbara County Fire Department is the authority having jurisdiction. The 2019 California Fire Code will be superseded by the 2022 version, with a projected effective date of January 6, 2023. Adoption of the 2022 California Fire Code with amendments, will become the Santa Barbara County Fire Code.
