In anticipation of the predicted heavy rain from the upcoming storm for 3/14/23, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and the Operational Area departments will be prepositioning resources with increased staffing funded by California Office of Emergency Services. The added personnel (Approx. 63 personnel) and equipment will allow surge capacity augmenting standard response levels for incidents caused by rain, wind, and flooding between March 13th (5pm) – 15th (8am).

  • Strike Team 1521C – SBC (Santa Barbara County Fire Department) (2) Type 3 Engines, LMP (Lompoc Fire) Type 3 Engine, STB (City of Santa Barbara) Type 3 Engine, MTO (Montecito Fire) Type 3 Engine
  • Heavy Equipment Task Force Leader – Heavy Equipment: Grader, Excavator and Loader
  • SBC Handcrew at Cachuma
  • SBC Water Rescue Team
  • Emergency Communication Center Captain
  • Logistics Section Chief
  • SBC ASU Helicopter 964
