Fire Construction Permit Inspections

Santa Barbara County Fire Department (SBCFD) conducts fire code reviews and inspections for construction projects within the SBCFD fire district. As part of this review SBCFD might place conditions on the project to meet fire code requirements. As part of these conditions, site inspections might be required. In addition, the Building Department might require fire department signoff on your construction project.

SBCFD uses the Santa Barbara County Accela Public Portal to schedule site inspections for construction projects being reviewed by County Fire Planning & Engineering Section. The County Accela Public portal can be accessed using the following link: https://aca-prod.accela.com/SBCO/Login.aspx

If you do not already have an Accela account, you may create one at no cost. To request an inspection, you must have an active SBCFD project, which requires your FPC or FPL permit number.

Please note that submitting an inspection request through Accela is not a confirmed appointment. You will select a preferred date and provide the contact information for the individual who will be on site. An SBCFD inspector will follow up to schedule the official date and time.
