The Santa Barbara County Fire Safe Council is hosting the 2023 Wildfire Preparedness Exposition October 7, 2023. The Event will be held at the Lompoc Veteran’s Hall, 100 E Locust Ave, in Lompoc, from 1000-1600. The event will feature the Walk Into Wildfire immersive multimedia exhibit designed to give participants an inside view of a wildland fire flame front. Walk Into Wildfire is part of the Burn Cycle Project founded by Ethan Turpin, whose father, Bill Turpin, retired as a Battalion Chief from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department. In addition, several family-friendly activities and exhibits planned. There will be booths from over a dozen organizations so residents can get tailored information about how to prepare for the next wildfire.

This event is funded by a Fire Prevention Grant and is part of the Regional Wildfire Mitigation Program (RWMP).
