Apparatus and Equipment

The Santa Barbara County Fire Department is a progressive, multi-mission public safety agency. To meet those demands and fulfill the missions on a daily basis, a variety of apparatus is required.

Conventional fire apparatus, fire engine, or fire truck, is a vehicle designed to assist in fighting fires by transporting firefighters to the scene, along with water or other equipment. In most areas, the terms fire engine and fire truck represent different types of firefighting apparatus. Fire apparatus are categorized by what function it will carry out.
