Tractor Aerial Ladder

SBC has a KME tractor-drawn aerial which is located at Station 11 in the City of Goleta. The truck weighs 74 thousand pounds and has a 100’ aerial ladder, which is piped with a nozzle at the tip of the ladder making it possible for an elevated stream of up to 1,250 GPM high above the fire. It’s technical term is a Quint, which means it has a pump, water tank, aerial ladder and carries ground ladders and fire hose.

The truck is configured for technical, trench and confined space rescue, and is rated as an OES USAR (medium) apparatus. Some of the equipment onboard the truck are;

Truck 11 responds to all technical rescue, vehicle accident and structure fire calls within Battalion 1. It can also respond alone on medical emergencies.

There is a crew of one Captain, one Engineer, and one Firefighter/Tillerman
